The Things console essentially gives developers more control over what's going with their connected Android Things-compatible devices.
As explained in the official Android Developers blog: This console allows developers to manage the software running on their fleet of Android Things Io T devices, including creating factory images, as well as updating the operating system and developer-provided APKs.
I can't find any concrete information how often the statistics on the google play Developer Console are updated (number of installs etc). Consider editing the question or leaving comments for improvement if you believe the question can be reworded to fit within the scope. Even when updating, they tend to give out of date/incorrect data.
I'd suggest integrating Google Analytics for Mobile or Flurry into your app(s) if you want good statistics.
